Registration

Those who have received the email about their hotels may directly go to their hotels upon arriving.
However, please make sure to visit the registration desk on June 1 or June 2 in the Guesthouse of
CASS. You are requested to pay the 60 US dollars registration fee to the Institute of Archaeology
and (if not done yet) the membership fee to SEAA (100 USD / 60 USD reduced). Please collect the handbook of
the conference and coupons for lunches and dinners at the registration desk.
Those who will join the post conference tour have to make their payment for the tour (3,500 RMB
yuan). You may tell the staff if you need special arrangement during the tour.
Location of the registration desk
The registration desk is in the Guesthouse of Chinese Academy of Social Science (CASS). The address
is No. 27 Wangfujing dajie (you can show the taxi driver the Chinese address: 王府井大街北口,华侨大厦对面).
It is in the same building complex with the Institute of Archaeology which you can find on the Map
of Wangfujing area. It is the E building on the map of Location of meeting rooms.
Pick up at the airport
Staff of the Institute of Archaeology will wait for participants at the Beijing airport on June
1 and June 2. They will help everyone to find a taxi to the Guesthouse of CASS or their hotels.
You have two choices (Participants need to pay by themselves):
1. By Taxi (about 15 US dollars or about 100 RMB)
出租车(大约15美元或者约100元人民币)
2. By Shuttle Bus (Line 3, From Airport to Beijing Railway Station, about 3 US
dollars or 16 RMB), Then, Take Taxi to Guesthouse of CASS (about 2 US dollars or about 15 RMB)
乘坐机场巴士(3号线,机场至北京站线,16元人民币)至北京站下车,然后乘出租车至社科博源宾馆(大约2美元或者约15元人民币)
Hotels
We have booked rooms for everyone who had sent Dr. LI Xinwei their request. Dr. LI Xinwei will send
an email to each of them specifying the name and location of their hotels. All the hotels are just
beside the Guesthouse of CASS. For those who fail to get the email on time, please visit the
registration desk in the Guesthouse of CASS when arriving.

Early arriving
For those who will arrive before June 1, please find a taxi at the airport by yourselves to your
hotel. If you have not got an email specifying your hotel, please visit the front desk of the
Guesthouse of CASS and call one of the emergency numbers.

Coffee breaks
Due to the limited time and space, the conference will have not special time for coffee breaks. Each
meeting rooms will provide bottled spring water instead. There is a coffee area at location B on the
map of Location of meeting rooms, where everyone can find free spring water, tea, coffee and cookies
from 9 am to 11:30 am and 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
Food
All the hotels will provide breakfast. Those who want to have breakfast in the hotel need to
mention this to the front desk of their hotel.
The Institute of Archaeology, CASS will provide beverages and light refreshments for coffee breaks,
lunches on June 3, 4 and 5, welcome dinner on June 3 and farewell dinner on June 5.

Hotels in Beijing
There are many hotels within ten minutes walking distance from the Institute of Archaeology, CASS
where the conference will be held. We divided them into three levels:
Level A: four stars hotel, about 120 US dollars per night for a room with two beds
Level B: three stars hotel, about 70 US dollars per night for a room with two beds
Level C: two stars hotel, about 45 US dollars per night for a room with two beds
All the scholars may choose the level they prefer.
We will book rooms according to scholars’ choice.
Scholars need to pay by themselves when arriving.
Those who want to share the room need to pay half of the price.
Scholars who want to join post-conference tours need to book a room for June 9.
